How should I Ingest Wheatgrass?

It should be juiced and consumed fresh for best results. It is sweet and tastes best when consumed this way.  It can be placed in a blender and strained, or as a smoothie. Use fresh lemon or carrots to help balance the taste if it’s too potent in your smoothie.  It has a very cleansing reaction on your body, moving all kinds of toxins out of your cellular tissue and organs. It can stir up a lot of stuff at first until you get cleaner inside. So get used to it slowly and work up to a top dose of 4 ounces a day.

Can I Regrow The Tray?

The wheatgrass is not usually regrown after cutting because the second growth is not nearly as nutritious and is more likely to have mold. Also once the wheatgrass reaches about 12 inches, the sweetness of the grass is lost and it will become more bitter. The growth also slows down after about 12 inches of growth.

What To Do If I begin To Get Mold?

If you begin to see white fuzzy stuff at the base of your wheatgrass trays that is mold. It is very common and the biggest issue with growing wheatgrass. Don’t worry if you have mold. You can rinse It off under the tap at your sink, or after you cut it you can wash it before juicing.

Storing Wheatgrass

The biggest issue with storing it is mold. Wheatgrass growers use circulating air which eliminates almost all mold problems. One way to prevent mold is to keep a fan on it 24 hours a day. Nature naturally circulates air outside which is why we don’t have mold growing in our lawns. You can place the tray outside to prevent mold, but keep it out of direct sun, and be aware of the frost which can kill it. You can cut the wheatgrass and store it in a ziplock bag in the fridge for up to 7 days. Be sure not to wash it before storing it in a bag as it will begin to decompose.
